Most yard cleanups need a 15-yard or 20-yard dumpster. Brush and branches are light: the EPA average for prunings and branches is 127 pounds per cubic yard. A full 20-yard of brush weighs well under its 3 included tons. Lot clearing and big storm limbs take a 30-yard.

How do I fit more brush in a dumpster?
Cut limbs to 4 to 6 feet and lay them flat in one direction, with the butt ends toward the door. Brush piled in loose tangles fills a dumpster with air. Wet leaves and grass clippings weigh more than dry brush, so keep a tarp handy.
Keep stumps and root balls out of a brush load, or tell us when you book. With dirt attached they count as heavy debris and belong in a 10 or 15-yard.

Where should a yard waste dumpster go?
Put the yard waste dumpster on the driveway or another hard surface near the work. Lawns look convenient, but a loaded dumpster and the truck can rut wet Southeast Texas soil. The truck needs about 60 feet of straight approach and 23 feet of overhead clearance from branches.
What does a yard waste dumpster rental cost?
Your 20-yard dumpster price includes delivery, pickup, 7 days and 3 tons. Weight over 3 tons costs $75 per ton, charged by the exact pound, not rounded up. A copy of the certified landfill scale ticket comes with your final invoice, emailed 3 to 5 business days after pickup.
Here is how the example works. The ticket shows 2.40 tons net, under the 3 included tons, so there is no overage charge.
Other charges happen only if they apply: $25 for each day past 7, $50 per mattress, tire or Freon appliance, and a $125 trip fee if the driver cannot reach the dumpster.

Yard waste dumpster questions
Can I put tree stumps in a dumpster?
Small stumps with the dirt knocked off can go in. Large stumps with root balls are heavy debris: tell us first, and use a 10 or 15-yard.
Is a dumpster cheaper than city brush pickup?
City brush pickup is often included in your utility bill but runs on the city's schedule and size limits. A dumpster costs more but takes everything at once, on your schedule.
Can grass clippings and leaves go in the dumpster?
They can. Bag them or keep them dry; wet clippings are heavy and count toward your tons.
Can I mix yard waste and household junk?
A mixed load is fine in our dumpsters. Just keep dirt, rock and concrete out of a 20 or 30-yard.
